Lazy Summer Fashion
Summer has come and gone (well almost) and I've been trying to put together effortless styles that require little to no extra prep. Summers for me mean no working (cause I'm a teacher) and more freedom on what I can wear. It was fun to try out new styles and not be afraid to bend the rules. Here were some of my favorite outfits this past summer:
The first outfit I had was a tennis inspired dress that I had in my closet for awhile. I bought it on sale and I loved the color block details. The dress was easy to pair with a fun red purse (subtly wearing red, white, and blue) and pairing it with some strappy heels. It was perfect for a quick errand.
The second outfit, was a more casual outfit that went well with a favorite accessory of mine, my straw fedora. I loved these boyfriend jeans that I found at TJ Maxx one day on clearance for $20! Since getting it, it has been my go-to easy outfit pairing. It's super comfortable and baggy in all the right places (and it's not skinny jeans even though it looks like in this picture). I paired it with my favorite print tee that I got from Target one day and a cute summer espadrilles. I got a compliment about my outfit the day I wore this actually and it made me feel even better about it. I tend to dress up more than this but even with a casual outfit, there's no reason to feel like you can just slap on a few cute accessories to make your outfit feel complete.
The next outfit I wore to a shopping trip with my sister. We were just browsing and window shopping and it was kind of a hot day even though the sun was set already. I wore my favorite color to wear (magenta) and paired it with a cute lace mini skirt. I happened to have the exact same colors to match accessory-wise which made the outfit seemed more planned than usual but I've been trying recently to be more adventurous with colors. I play it safe with a neutral and bright color when I I want to just feel comfortable and not draw too much attention like when I run errands. I know that seems like I put a lot of thought into it but I really just try to be conscious on how my fashion reflects who I am and how I feel in the moment.
Hope this was a fun blog post and I hope to post more things in the near future. Ironically, the summer is when I have more time and I didn't really post anything new. I guess I was too busy traveling. Speaking of which, here's a picture from my summer when I accomplished something on my bucket list, visiting Magnolia!

Also in every picture I'm not wearing makeup. I think one of the best things about summer is not wearing any makeup. There's really no point of wearing anything other than lotion for sun protection because the sweat and heat will just melt away any makeup you wear. Even if you don't have makeup like that, it still feels cakey and nothing beats the breath-ability of not wearing any makeup at all. Honestly I never was a true fan of makeup and I tend not to wear it including wearing my glasses whenever I can. I truly love embracing my beauty the way it is and never feel compelled to wear something that isn't my style or me. It took me a long time to get to this point but it sure feels great to love all the outfits and stuff I put together and I hope that every girl finds their style inspiration from somewhere and just be themselves no matter what.
