Plated Creations
Been having some fun experimenting with a delivery food system called Plated for about a year now. It was recommended to me by my sister because of its convenience and its exact measurement of food (which prevents from wasting food since we have to buy things in bulk at the grocery store). I particularly like the fact that I was able to try new cultural dishes and fusion creations that I wouldn't have been able to come up on my own or even find these unique ingredients.
I wanted to share as a recommendation because it seems to be the new craze for my generation. Millennials, like myself, like to try new things and personally try new ideas and cultures. It's funny cause I myself have been known to like historical things and traditions but in the realms of my cooking, I've been more drawn to trying new things. I don't know the sole reason why but it might be because I've been only exposed to two cultures growing up: American and Korean. My parents were not too adventurous.
I've enjoyed a lot of new taste adventures and grown a liking to cooking in my free time. When I was introduced to the plated, I was quite excited to try new cooking techniques along with new taste palates. It's quite convenient because all the ingredients were measured and bagged up separately (the only downside I have of this subscription was the fact that it seems to use a lot of plastic bags which seems wasteful and non eco-friendly but the company is conscious of this and makes sure that it makes things recyclable when possible). A recipe is provided and it's easy to following along because of its instructions and images for each step. I particularly liked Korean tacos because it used actual Korean ingredients along with Mexican ingredients to create a unique taste profile that I liked. I've also tried an African breakfast dish, Japanese noodle dish, English dinner dish, and numerous modern takes and variations on traditional American dishes as well.
I love trying new things and this subscription that I get once a week has made it easy to bring adventure into my own kitchen. It may look like a shameless plug but I really do enjoy it and I hope that other people can enjoy liking it too. You don't have to get a subscription and can order things one at a time. There are taste profiles that you can choose if you do get a subscription, such as preference for meat or vegetarian dishes. If you enjoy cooking and trying new things, then I recommend plated. It has brought many enjoyments to my household as I hope it does for you.
The following two images showcases four plated recipes. All recipes are saved onto your account after you have ordered them so you can always repeat a favorite!
Happy cooking!
